I came to a war not mine to fight,
no guns, no weapon, just a sense of right
and a belief in Christ.

I came to a war not mine to fight,
hoping that in time history might write
of me as a warrior of vessels tight.

I came to a war not mine to fight,
a bloody nose and cut toes,
using chemicals in regular dose.

I came a warrior in a battle not mine to fight.
I came a warrior, in a battle I never started.

Signed, A tired warrior.

When I set out to design this website, I was at an emotional crossroads. I was asked to design a website revolving around my torment. Maybe as a way to torment me further, I could not come up with any meaningful design process. Then I remembered my cousin, whom this cruel world also decided to burden with this tragic infestation of a disease. 10! That is how old she is. Probably not understanding the gravity of the condition which battles her blood. I decided to design this for her, in a way she can easily understand and relate with the battles going on in her. Hence, why the website is designed as such with funny animations and descriptive expressions. Maybe that can water down the effect of the battle she shall face. I did this for you and all kids living with sickle cell disease.
